The Kebbi State Government has approved the construction of road projects linking 13 communities across Kalgo and Bunza Local Government Areas of the state.
Governor Nasir Idris announced the approval on Friday during a condolence visit to residents of Diggi following the death of the District Head of Diggi, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, popularly known as Dan Galadima Diggi.
According to the governor, the road projects are intended to improve transportation and strengthen connections between the benefiting communities.
He said better road access would make it easier for residents to move people and goods while supporting economic activities in the affected areas.
The communities listed to benefit from the projects are Maidahini, Yarawel, Gerere, Etene, Ketar Fulani, Ketar Hausawa, Gangare, Banganna, Mutubari, Wurogauri, Diggi, Gayi and Unguwar Jeji.
Idris said the contract had been awarded to Habib Engineering Construction Company, with an official flag-off ceremony expected to take place soon.
The governor assured residents that his administration would continue to support projects with direct benefits for communities, particularly in areas facing infrastructure challenges.
He added that the government would continue extending development projects across the state as part of efforts to improve connectivity and support local economic activity.
The latest approval adds to ongoing road and rural-access projects in Kebbi. The state has previously identified rural roads as important for improving access to markets, agricultural inputs and essential services.
