Amnesty International has called for an independent and impartial investigation into reported Pakistani military strikes in Kabul, urging authorities to establish the facts, protect civilians and ensure accountability if violations of international law are found.

In a statement, the human rights organization expressed concern over reports that the strikes resulted in civilian casualties and damage to residential areas. Amnesty said all parties involved in armed conflict are obligated to comply with international humanitarian law, including the principles of distinction, proportionality and precaution.

The organization urged Pakistani authorities to conduct transparent investigations into the reported attacks and to make the findings public. It also called for any individuals found responsible for unlawful actions to be held accountable through due legal process.

Amnesty International emphasized that civilians and civilian infrastructure must never be deliberately targeted and stressed that all military operations should take every feasible precaution to minimize harm to non-combatants.

Pakistani authorities have not publicly responded to Amnesty's latest call. In previous statements regarding cross-border security operations, Pakistan has maintained that its actions are aimed at militant groups posing threats to its national security and that efforts are made to avoid civilian casualties.

The reported strikes come amid heightened security tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, with both countries exchanging accusations over cross-border militant activity. The situation has raised concerns among regional observers about the potential for further instability.

International humanitarian organizations have urged all parties to exercise restraint and prioritize the protection of civilians, warning that continued violence could worsen the humanitarian situation in the region.

Analysts say an independent investigation could help clarify the circumstances surrounding the reported strikes and reinforce accountability under international law. They also note that transparent fact-finding is essential to maintaining public confidence and reducing the risk of further escalation.

As of the time of publication, no independent body had released verified findings on the reported incident. Amnesty International reiterated its call for a credible investigation to ensure that any allegations of unlawful conduct are thoroughly examined and that victims have access to justice where appropriate.
