Chelsea have officially completed the signing of France international Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace, with the central defender declaring that he shares the same ambition and determination as new head coach Xabi Alonso. During the 2025–26 campaign, he made 55 appearances in all competitions, contributing three goals and three assists while helping Palace secure the UEFA Conference League title. His consistent performances also earned him recognition as one of the league's standout defenders.

Before joining Palace in 2024 from VfL Wolfsburg, Lacroix developed his reputation in the Bundesliga after beginning his professional career with French club Sochaux.
