Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are moving back to the United Kingdom with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, marking a major change for the family more than six years after they left Britain.

The couple are expected to establish a private, non-royal home outside London, while keeping their properties in California and Portugal. Their children are also expected to attend school in Britain from September.

A New Chapter for the Sussexes

Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and later settled in Montecito, California. Their return to Britain does not mean they will resume working royal duties; they will remain private, non-working members of the Royal Family.

The move comes after the family recently reunited with King Charles III, with reports suggesting the King welcomes the opportunity to spend more private time with his grandchildren.

Harry has also previously spoken about wanting to improve his relationship with his father, although tensions with other members of the Royal Family, particularly Prince William, remain.

For the Sussex family, the move represents their biggest change in living arrangements since leaving Britain in 2020 and could open a new chapter in their relationship with the Royal Family.
