The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke the winner of the 2026 governorship election, returning him for another term in office.

Adeleke, the Accord Party candidate, polled 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who recorded 444,815 votes, according to the final figures announced by the returning officer, Prof. Joshua Ogunwole.

The governor won 19 of Osun's 30 Local Government Areas, while Oyebamiji secured 11 LGAs. ADC candidate Najeem Salaam finished third with 17,180 votes.

Ogunwole, Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, declared Adeleke elected after the completion of the collation exercise early Sunday morning.

The victory gives Adeleke a fresh mandate to continue governing Osun State, while the APC now faces another setback after mounting a strong challenge against the incumbent.

The Osun election has now officially ended with Adeleke securing a second term.
