New Chelsea signing Marco Palestra has spoken of his excitement after completing his move from Atalanta, saying he "can't wait to start" life in the Premier League following a transfer that saw the Blues beat Inter Milan to his signature.
The highly rated Italian defender officially joined Chelsea on a long-term contract running until 2033, becoming one of the club's key summer additions under head coach Xabi Alonso.

“We have so many talented players here, a very strong squad and manager in Xabi. He has spoken to me about how he wants us to play, which is exciting.”
Chelsea Beat Inter to the Deal
Chelsea secured Palestra after reportedly offering a financial package that surpassed Inter Milan's proposal.
The Blues agreed a deal worth approximately €55 million, outbidding the Serie A giants to land one of Italy's most highly regarded young defenders.
