Major Drone Barrage Hits Russian Capital Region
A major Ukrainian drone attack has struck Russia’s Moscow region, killing an 83-year-old man and injuring several other people, according to regional authorities.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said around 600 drones were launched toward the Moscow region, with Russian air defences reporting that 201 were intercepted over the area.
A major Wildberries logistics warehouse in Podolsk, about 45 kilometres south of Moscow, was also hit and caught fire. Damage was reported at other logistics facilities near Domodedovo.
The attack came as Ukraine continues expanding its long-range strikes against Russian military and economic infrastructure.
Russia also launched overnight missile and drone attacks against Ukraine, highlighting the continuing escalation of aerial warfare on both sides.
