Former supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ogun State have formed a political mobilisation group backing President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 elections.
The group, known as the Yayi Ni Wura Alliance Movement, said it is targeting at least 100,000 votes for Tinubu’s re-election and the governorship bid of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi.
Speaking at a press conference in Abeokuta, the group’s Director of Media and Publicity, Wasiu Adejumo, said its members came from different political backgrounds, including the PDP, ADC and APC.
Adejumo said the members decided to unite because of their support for Adeola’s governorship ambition in Ogun and Tinubu’s bid to remain president beyond 2027.
He said the group’s 100,000-vote target represents its mobilisation objective across Ogun State, adding that members would engage communities and grassroots supporters ahead of the election.
The state coordinator of the movement, Akeem Shodiya, said the organisation was open to people from other political platforms who wished to join its mobilisation structure.
The group also expressed support for other APC candidates in Ogun State, including Senator Shuaib Salisu and Olumide Osoba.
The development comes as political parties and support groups intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections. The 100,000 figure is the alliance’s stated target and should not be interpreted as a forecast of actual election results.
