Residents Laud Oborevwori as DSC Roundabout Flyover Opens to Traffic

Residents, commuters and business operators in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, have commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori following the opening of the newly constructed DSC Roundabout flyover to vehicular traffic.

The flyover, executed under the Oborevwori administration and constructed by Julius Berger, has been described by residents as a major boost to mobility, commerce and urban renewal across Effurun, Warri and neighbouring communities.

A vox pop survey conducted along the DSC Roundabout corridor revealed widespread approval of the project, with respondents noting that the flyover, alongside similar projects at PTI Junction, Effurun Roundabout and Enerhen Junction, has significantly eased traffic congestion in an area long plagued by gridlock and deteriorated road infrastructure.

Many residents described the intervention as timely and transformative, citing improved traffic flow, enhanced safety, increased business activities and a cleaner urban outlook.

Mr. Shuaibu Aduku, a resident of the Nehemiah area, recalled the hardship commuters previously endured. He said the flyover has brought remarkable relief, making transportation faster and daily life easier for residents and motorists.

Similarly, Mr. Abednego Osia noted that the former state of the road was unbefitting of a major urban centre, adding that the flyover has eliminated persistent bottlenecks and improved connectivity across the area.

On the social impact of the project, Mrs. Vincent Miracle said the flyover has beautified the environment and positively influenced social and religious activities, describing the area as cleaner and more organised than before.

For Mr. Victor Ayoro, the project reflects purposeful and people-centred leadership, noting that improved road infrastructure has enhanced safety and accessibility for residents. He urged the government to sustain the pace of development while creating more employment opportunities.

An indigene of Uvwie, Blessing, described the flyover as an end to years of hardship, praising the governor for transforming the once-congested corridor into a modern and orderly urban space.

Business operators also reported increased economic activities. Mr. Akpobofene Akatuba, who has operated in the DSC–PTI Junction axis for over a decade, said the improved road network has attracted more customers and business opportunities, reviving commercial life in the area.

Overall, residents expressed appreciation to Governor Oborevwori for prioritising infrastructure development, describing the DSC Roundabout flyover as a symbol of people-oriented governance and strategic urban renewal. Many urged the governor to sustain the momentum, noting that the project has significantly improved the quality of life and economic prospects in Delta State.
