The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has alleged that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is becoming increasingly concerned over the growing political popularity of Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, describing the governor as an influential figure ahead of Nigeria's 2027 general election.

In a statement issued by the party, APM claimed that Makinde's governance record and expanding national profile have attracted increasing public attention, making him a prominent voice in Nigeria's political discourse.

The party argued that Governor Makinde's performance in areas such as infrastructure development, education, healthcare and fiscal management has strengthened his standing among many Nigerians.
