The Croatian Football Federation has confirmed the appointment of Slaven Bilić as the new head coach of the national team, marking his return after a two-year break from management.

Bilić, who previously managed Croatia and enjoyed a successful spell in charge of West Ham United F.C., returns with a wealth of experience gained from coaching at both club and international level.

The appointment signals a new era for Croatia as the federation looks to build on the country's recent international achievements while preparing for upcoming UEFA and FIFA competitions.

Speaking after his appointment, Bilić expressed his pride at returning to lead his country, describing the role as one of the greatest honours in his coaching career. He pledged to build a competitive squad capable of challenging the world's top teams.

Croatian football officials praised Bilić's leadership qualities, tactical knowledge and deep understanding of the national team's culture, saying they are confident he can guide the squad through the next phase of its development.

The former West Ham manager has also coached several clubs across Europe and the Middle East, earning a reputation for developing talented players and implementing an attacking style of football.

Fans have largely welcomed the decision, hoping Bilić's experience and familiarity with Croatian football will help the national team remain among Europe's leading football nations as preparations begin for future international tournaments.
