Military says ongoing operations continue to disrupt insurgent activities in the North-East 
Nigerian troops conducting counter-insurgency operations in Borno State have neutralised an individual identified as an ISWAP cameraman and uncovered the presence of a foreign terrorist trainer and a medical personnel believed to be linked to the insurgent group.
According to military authorities, the discoveries were made during a series of coordinated operations targeting terrorist hideouts in parts of the Sambisa Forest and the Lake Chad region. The operations are part of ongoing efforts to dismantle the operational networks of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) and other armed groups operating in the North-East.
Military officials said intelligence gathered during the operations indicates that the foreign trainer was involved in providing tactical instruction to insurgents, while the medic was responsible for treating injured fighters and supporting the group's logistics.
The military also reported recovering weapons, ammunition, communication equipment, and other items believed to have been used by the terrorists. Security forces said several camps were destroyed, further weakening the group's operational capabilities.
Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining offensive operations against terrorist groups and urged residents to continue supporting security agencies by providing credible information that could assist ongoing efforts to improve security in the region.
The Nigerian military has intensified operations across the North-East in recent months as part of broader efforts to eliminate terrorist threats, restore stability, and facilitate the safe return of displaced communities.
