The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to partnering with the Taraba State Government to unlock the state’s vast economic potential in agriculture, energy, tourism, infrastructure and mineral resources.

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, made the commitment in Jalingo during celebrations marking Taraba’s 35th anniversary and the unveiling of the Taraba Regional Development Master Plan, which he described as an important blueprint for sustainable growth.
The Federal Government highlighted ongoing and planned investments in major areas, including roads, agriculture, renewable energy and industrial development. Taraba has also secured about $268 million in financing agreements with the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development for an industrial park, irrigated rice production and processing, and a 50-megawatt solar power plant in Jalingo.
Idris said the partnership should ultimately translate into more jobs, stronger businesses, improved infrastructure and greater opportunities for young people, farmers, women and entrepreneurs across the state.
