Najeem Salaam Says Youth Employment Will Be a Top Priority 
African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate Najeem Salaam has promised to create 20,000 government jobs for young people within his first 100 days in office if elected governor of Osun State.
Salaam made the pledge during a town hall meeting for candidates contesting the August 15 Osun governorship election. He said the jobs would cover different fields, including teaching and other professions.
The former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly said his experience in government gave him confidence that the target was achievable.
Focus on Young People
Salaam's promise comes as unemployment and limited economic opportunities remain major concerns for young Nigerians.
He said his administration would prioritise job creation and improve conditions across different sectors of the state.
The candidate also promised to provide stable electricity in Osun if elected, saying his administration had a solution to the state's power challenges.
Election Approaches
The 2026 Osun governorship election is scheduled for August 15, with Salaam facing candidates including incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke and APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji.
For voters, the key question will be whether the candidates' promises can translate into practical improvements in jobs, electricity and living conditions.
Salaam is now asking Osun residents to give his party the opportunity to implement its development agenda.
