The Nigeria Police Force has paraded four suspects, including two doctors, over an alleged organ-harvesting and human-trafficking syndicate operating in Nasarawa State.

The suspects were arrested during a Special Tactical Squad operation in Auta Balifi, Karu Local Government Area, on August 19. Police identified them as two nephrologists, Dr Benjamin Oyime and Dr Daniel Otukpa, as well as Emmanuel Ode and David Idoko.
According to the police, the suspects allegedly targeted financially vulnerable young people and recruited victims under false pretences. Investigators also alleged that official documents were forged to facilitate the procedures.
Police said investigations are continuing as authorities work to identify other people allegedly connected to the network.
The case has raised fresh concerns about illegal organ trafficking and the exploitation of vulnerable Nigerians, while police say efforts are underway to dismantle the wider syndicate
