The African Democratic Congress senatorial candidate for Ekiti North, Funso Ayeni, has called on security agencies to investigate the reported attack and vandalisation of his campaign office in Ido-Ekiti.
Ayeni made the appeal on Saturday while inspecting the damaged office in the headquarters of Ekiti North Senatorial District. The campaign office had been inaugurated only days before the incident.

The candidate condemned the reported destruction and said political disagreements should not lead to intimidation, violence or damage to property. He urged authorities to establish what happened and identify those responsible.
Ayeni also appealed to his supporters to remain calm and avoid taking the law into their own hands. He said political competition should focus on policies, programmes, accountability and the issues affecting residents.
He further called for a peaceful political environment ahead of the 2027 general elections, saying political actors should be able to disagree without resorting to violence or destruction.
The incident has also prompted condemnation from ADC members in Ekiti North, who called for a thorough investigation and urged political stakeholders to keep their activities within the law.
Ayeni said Ekiti should avoid the kind of political tension that has previously been associated with attacks on campaign materials and political property in other parts of the country. He urged politicians and supporters to learn from such incidents and maintain peaceful engagement.
No individual or political party has been identified by authorities as responsible for the reported vandalisation. An investigation would be expected to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and determine whether anyone should face legal action.
The call for a police probe comes as political activities gradually increase ahead of the 2027 elections, with parties and candidates beginning to intensify mobilisation across Ekiti State.
