The Governor of Bangkok has pledged to strengthen fire safety regulations following a deadly pub fire that has claimed the lives of 30 people, with several others receiving treatment for injuries.
Authorities said emergency responders rushed to the scene after the fire broke out at the entertainment venue, evacuating patrons and working for hours to contain the blaze. The death toll has continued to rise as some of the injured succumbed to their injuries in hospital.
