British Sprinters Shine as Great Britain Claims 4x100m Relay Gold 
Dina Asher-Smith has equalled the record for the most European Championship medals won by an athlete, while fellow Briton Amy Hunt completed a golden treble at the 2026 European Athletics Championships in Birmingham.
Asher-Smith secured her 10th European Championship medal after helping Great Britain win the women's 4x100m relay in 42.05 seconds alongside Hunt, Success Eduan and Imani Lansiquot.
The achievement moved Asher-Smith level with Polish athletics legend Irena Szewinska, who also won 10 European Championship medals between 1966 and 1978. Asher-Smith's haul includes seven golds, two silvers and a bronze.
Hunt Completes Golden Treble
For 24-year-old Hunt, the relay victory capped an outstanding championships.
She had already won gold in the 100m and 200m, making the relay her third title of the competition.
Hunt now has an opportunity to make even more history in the mixed 4x100m relay, where another victory would make her the first athlete in the 92-year history of the European Championships to win four gold medals at a single edition.
Britain Enjoys Strong Championships
The relay triumph lifted Great Britain's medal tally to 12 medals, including six golds, heading into the final day of competition.
For Asher-Smith, the achievement underlines her remarkable longevity at the European Championships, while Hunt's three-gold haul has established her as one of the standout performers of the Birmingham event.
