Maghnes Akliouche Impresses in UEFA Super Cup Victory
Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has praised new signing Maghnes Akliouche after the midfielder impressed on his PSG debut against Aston Villa in the UEFA Super Cup.
The €50 million signing came on for the second half and helped PSG maintain their control as they secured a 2-1 victory to retain the trophy.
Enrique was particularly impressed with Akliouche's performance, describing the 24-year-old France international as “sensational.” The new arrival showed confidence and quality despite making his first competitive appearance for the European champions.
PSG had taken the lead through Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, while Aston Villa's 17-year-old debutant Brian Madjo equalised before Désiré Doué scored the winning goal in the second half.
For Akliouche, the impressive cameo offers an early glimpse of what PSG supporters can expect from their major summer signing.
