Victim Receiving Medical Treatment as Investigation Continues
The Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested eight suspected cultists in connection with the alleged assault of a student of Niger Delta University (NDU), Amassoma, as authorities intensify efforts to curb cult-related violence in the state.
According to the police, the suspects were apprehended following an investigation into the attack on the student, who was reportedly assaulted by a group of individuals believed to be members of a cult group. The incident, which occurred in the university community, sparked concern among students and residents over security on and around the campus.
The Commissioner of Police in Bayelsa State said officers acted swiftly after receiving reports of the incident, leading to the arrest of the eight suspects.
