Dozens of masked Israeli settlers attacked homes near the Palestinian village of Qusra in the occupied West Bank, surrounding a house where seven Palestinians were trapped, according to witnesses.

Witnesses said the settlers threw stones at the home while the residents remained inside for more than an hour. The homeowner, Luay Bayruti, said he suffered an arm injury after being struck by a stone during the attack.
The situation escalated after Israeli military and border police forces arrived at the scene. Residents said troops fired tear gas into the house and detained people inside. The Israeli military said its forces had arrived to remove what it described as “rioters” and protect the residents, but it did not immediately explain the reported use of tear gas or allegations that some residents were beaten.
A medic who was among those inside said several people suffered injuries from tear gas and stones. The incident occurred close to homes that were reportedly targeted in a settler siege earlier this month, which drew international condemnation.
Residents say settler incursions around Qusra have continued despite the heavy Israeli military presence in the area. Rights groups have warned that increasing settler violence in the West Bank is contributing to growing tensions and displacement concerns.
