France coach Zinedine Zidane has confirmed that he will make changes to his team for the crucial Nations League meeting with Belgium.
Zidane said France would make “smart” and sensible adjustments because the match comes during a demanding run of fixtures.
The former France captain said the changes were designed to keep the team competitive while avoiding unnecessary risks to players.
Zidane did not reveal his starting lineup, leaving several positions open ahead of the Belgium clash.
He also indicated that the goalkeeping position was under consideration, with Mike Maignan remaining his first-choice goalkeeper while the other options continue to compete for selection.
France are approaching the match with the intention of maintaining their strong performance in the Nations League, but Zidane is conscious of the physical demands placed on the squad.
The coach stressed that the priority remained preparing properly and ensuring the players selected can carry out the team's plans on the pitch.
The France-Belgium encounter is scheduled for October 5, while Spain are due to face Croatia on October 6. The matches form part of the current Nations League campaign.
