Former Anambra State governor Peter Obi has visited communities affected by recent attacks in Benue State, calling on the Federal Government to do more to protect lives and property.

Obi visited Otukpo-Nobi and Efeyi-Ugboju communities in Otukpo Local Government Area, where several residents were killed, injured or reported missing.

At Otukpo-Nobi, he said more than 10 people were killed or missing, while several others were receiving treatment. He also visited Efeyi-Ugboju, where more than 13 people were reportedly killed.

During the visit, Obi joined residents in prayers for the victims and visited injured survivors in hospital.

He urged the Federal Government to strengthen security and address areas where criminal groups can operate with little resistance.

For families affected by the attacks, the immediate concern remains the safety of their loved ones and the recovery of those still missing.

Obi said governments must take greater responsibility for protecting vulnerable communities and preventing further loss of lives.
