INTERPOL Operation Across 97 Countries Results in 5,811 Arrests and Recovery of $293 Million

INTERPOL has announced that a coordinated international operation spanning 97 countries led to the arrest of 5,811 suspects and the recovery of more than $293 million linked to financial crimes.

The large-scale operation brought together law enforcement agencies from around the world to combat cyber-enabled fraud, money laundering and other forms of transnational financial crime.

According to INTERPOL, authorities seized cash, digital assets and other proceeds believed to be connected to criminal activities.                                                                                                                The operation also resulted in the freezing of thousands of bank accounts and the disruption of criminal networks involved in online scams, business email compromise, investment fraud and related offenses.

INTERPOL said the success of the operation highlights the importance of cross-border intelligence sharing and collaboration among police agencies.

Officials noted that financial crimes are increasingly international in nature, requiring coordinated efforts to identify suspects, trace illicit funds and dismantle organized criminal groups.

Authorities said investigations remain ongoing in several participating countries, with additional arrests and asset recoveries possible as new leads emerge.

INTERPOL encouraged individuals and organizations to remain vigilant against online fraud and report suspicious financial activity to local law enforcement agencies.
