CP Emphasizes Respect for Citizens' Rights 
The Commissioner of Police in Plateau State has directed officers not to search individuals' mobile phones without obtaining a valid court warrant, reaffirming the importance of respecting citizens' constitutional rights during law enforcement operations.
The directive forms part of efforts to promote professionalism, accountability and public trust within the Nigeria Police Force.
The police commissioner stressed that searches involving personal digital devices must be carried out in accordance with the law and due process.
He reminded officers that adherence to legal procedures helps protect both the rights of citizens and the integrity of criminal investigations.
The commissioner urged all personnel to conduct themselves professionally while interacting with members of the public, emphasizing respect, courtesy and compliance with established policing standards.
