Former World Cup Winner Leaves Monaco After Difficult Comeback
Paul Pogba has left AS Monaco after the French midfielder and the club mutually agreed to terminate his contract, bringing his short spell in the Principality to an early end.
Pogba, 33, joined Monaco in 2025 on a deal that was originally due to run until June 2027. However, his comeback was severely affected by injuries and limited playing time. He made just six appearances, including one start, during his time at the club.
Injuries Disrupt Pogba's Return
The former Manchester United and Juventus midfielder had hoped to rebuild his career after serving an 18-month doping ban.
However, recurring fitness problems prevented him from establishing himself as a regular member of the Monaco team. He is currently recovering from another thigh injury.
Pogba Now a Free Agent
With the agreement completed, Pogba is now a free agent and must decide on the next stage of his career.
Despite his difficult spell in Monaco, the Frenchman remains a major name in world football, having won the 2018 World Cup with France and enjoyed successful periods with Juventus and Manchester United.
Monaco thanked Pogba for his professionalism and contribution to the squad, particularly his influence on younger players.
