Fulham 2-3 Chelsea: Palmer Shines as Alonso Starts With Thrilling Win

Cole Palmer starred as Chelsea edged Fulham 3-2 in a thrilling West London derby, giving Xabi Alonso a winning start in his first Premier League game in charge.                                                          

                                                                                         

João Pedro opened the scoring after just 31 seconds, before Fulham’s Josh King levelled. Morgan Rogers restored Chelsea’s lead on his debut, while Palmer added a third early in the second half. Gonzalo García pulled one back for Fulham, but Chelsea held on for all three points.

Palmer was instrumental throughout, scoring once and assisting João Pedro as Chelsea’s new-look front three of Palmer, João Pedro and Rogers impressed.

It was an exciting start to the Alonso era, although Chelsea’s defensive lapses showed there is still plenty of work to do
