Manchester City began life without Pep Guardiola with a dramatic 2-1 comeback win over Bournemouth, giving new manager Enzo Maresca a winning start in the Premier League.

Bournemouth stunned the Etihad when Marcus Tavernier opened the scoring in the first half, exposing some of the defensive problems that have followed City into the new season.
City struggled for much of the match, but Maresca's introduction of Rayan Cherki changed the game. The French playmaker delivered the corner from which Marc Guehi headed in the equaliser in the 84th minute.
Then, deep into stoppage time, Cherki produced another decisive moment, slipping a clever pass through the Bournemouth defence for Josko Gvardiol to fire home the winner.
The victory gives Maresca three points in his first league game as Guardiola's successor, although City's performance showed there is still plenty of work to do.
It was a nervy afternoon for City, but the late comeback ensured Maresca began his new era with a dramatic victory.
