Newcastle United have reached a verbal agreement with Manchester City to sign midfielder Nico González in a deal worth up to £50 million, with the Spaniard giving the green light to the move.
The deal is reportedly worth £47 million plus £3 million in add-ons, with González now set to complete the final stages of the transfer.
The 24-year-old joined City from Porto in 2025 but struggled to establish himself as a regular starter. Newcastle see him as an important addition to their midfield following the departures of Bruno Guimarães and Sandro Tonali.
González’s arrival would give Newcastle valuable experience and fresh energy in midfield as they look to strengthen their squad.
