Suspects Allegedly Disguised as Commercial Taxi Operators 
The Ogun State Police Command has arrested two suspected members of a “one-chance” robbery syndicate operating in Abeokuta, following an intelligence-led operation.
The suspects, identified as Bidemi Tijani, 29, and Olajide Rasaq, 42, were arrested on August 15 after police received information that suspected members of the gang were travelling in a taxi towards Ita-Oshin, Abeokuta.
According to the police, operatives of the Violent Crime Response Unit pursued and intercepted the vehicle, leading to the arrest of the two suspects.
The command said both men allegedly confessed during interrogation to being members of a “one-chance” robbery syndicate that has been targeting commuters in Abeokuta.
“One-chance” robbery typically involves criminals posing as commercial transport operators or passengers before attacking unsuspecting commuters and stealing their valuables.
Police said investigations are continuing to establish the suspects’ alleged involvement in other incidents and identify any accomplices still at large.
The latest arrests come amid continued police efforts to tackle robbery and other street crimes in Ogun State.
