The Ogun State Police Command has dismantled an alleged baby factory in Mowe, rescuing two pregnant women and four children while arresting six suspects in connection with the operation.

The operation was carried out on Monday, August 24, following intelligence on suspected human trafficking and illegal adoption activities at a facility in Abaren Village, Mowe.
Police said the rescued women, aged 23 and 20, were seven and eight months pregnant respectively. The four children rescued comprised two boys and two girls.
Six suspects, including an attending nurse, were arrested as investigations continued. Police also traced another alleged victim to a hospital in the Mowe area after she reportedly gave birth to a baby boy on August 20. Authorities said the whereabouts of the newborn remained unknown, prompting further investigation and the arrest of the attending nurse.
The Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, commended the officers involved and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to tackling human trafficking, child trafficking and illegal adoption networks across the state.
Police say investigations are ongoing as efforts continue to establish the full extent of the alleged operation and locate the missing newborn.
