Alabama, Oklahoma and Tennessee Schedule Rare Same-Day Executions 
Three men are scheduled to be executed in Alabama, Oklahoma and Tennessee on August 13, marking the first time since 2010 that three US states have planned executions on the same day.
The prisoners are Carlos Cuesta-Rodriguez in Oklahoma, Anthony Darrell Hines in Tennessee and Jeremy Williams in Alabama. All three executions are scheduled to be carried out by lethal injection.
The rare convergence comes as the use of capital punishment rises in the United States. Nineteen people have already been executed across four states in 2026, according to the Death Penalty Information Center.
Hines' scheduled execution has drawn particular attention after a previous lethal-injection attempt in Tennessee was halted because medical staff struggled to establish an IV line. His lawyers have raised concerns about whether his health could make the procedure difficult.
The same-day executions have renewed debate over capital punishment in America, with supporters defending it for the most serious crimes while opponents continue to question its fairness, reliability and use.
