Osun Governor Continues Abuja Consultations After Re-Election
Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has visited FCT Minister Nyesom Wike in Abuja, shortly after meeting President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa.
The visit came as Adeleke continued consultations following his re-election in the August 15 Osun governorship election. He presented his certificate of return during his meeting with Tinubu and thanked the President for allowing the electoral process to run its course.
Adeleke won the election with 511,067 votes, defeating APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, who polled 444,815 votes. He won 19 of the state's 30 local government areas.
His subsequent meeting with Wike has attracted political attention, particularly as Nigeria's political landscape begins to shift ahead of the 2027 general elections.
However, there was no immediate indication that the visit represented a new political alliance or agreement. The meeting appears to be part of Adeleke's post-election engagements in Abuja.
For now, the governor's meetings with two influential figures — Tinubu and Wike — are likely to generate further discussion about the political direction of Osun and the wider opposition landscape.
