Security Tightens Across State as Residents Prepare for LG Poll
The Ebonyi State Police Command has announced a restriction on vehicular and human movement across the state ahead of Saturday’s local government elections.
According to the command, the restriction will run from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on election day as part of measures to maintain peace and prevent disruption during voting.
Police personnel have also been deployed to polling units and strategic locations across Ebonyi’s 13 Local Government Areas to strengthen security and protect voters and election officials.
However, accredited journalists, election observers, emergency responders, health workers and election officials are exempted from the restriction, provided they carry valid identification or official credentials.
The police have urged residents to remain calm, obey lawful instructions and avoid actions capable of causing violence or interfering with the electoral process.
The movement ban is expected to remain one of the key security measures as Ebonyi prepares for Saturday’s poll.
